Vacation bible school at st. george
Each year, St. George Church hosts a week-long Vacation Bible School in an effort to provide a fun, engaging, Bible-centered experience to the youth of the parish. VBS focuses on bringing each child closer to Jesus Christ in interactive ways through the help of many wonderful volunteers who share their faith.
Vacation Bible School will be COMING TO ST. GEORGE JUNE 9-13, 2025.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! It takes many hands to make VBS run smoothly, the following is a list of what is needed each year. We'd love to have YOU!- Group Leaders

Volunteer and Participant Testimonials:
I'm not the type that will generally write a testimonial but after spending a week with the youth (5th and 6th graders) at VBS, I feel compelled to share my experience. When I accepted the role as "youth crew leader", the previous person, who had been a "rock" in this role for years was unable to do it this year, I did so with a degree of trepidation. Although the overall VBS program is designed and executed to create an enthusiastic atmosphere for connecting with Jesus and his words, I wasn't sure that I could create the desired level of interest for this age group. I looked over the material and theme for the week and mostly prayed for guidance. I approached them as I would if talking to adults, presented the material and got them talking in both small and large groups about the message and how it related to them. What I discovered was an interest and willingness to understand Jesus's message and relate it to their personal lives, and some of the hardships and trouble they have already suffered. They were open and much more thoughtful than I had expected. As they discussed and shared their thoughts, and even "God sightings," I saw them uniting with Jesus, culminating with each of them pledging their heart to Jesus. However, one additional thing happened, as I listened to them, children, I was compelled to reflect on myself, and also found that I was uniting with Jesus as well. A benefit I had not expected!

I love VBS at St. George because it is a great way for me as a teacher to see my students learn about their faith outside the classroom. I love to watch their enthusiasm about Jesus throughout the day.

VBS is a labor of love for those who plan it. I am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer. I love singing and dancing and sharing that joy with all our participants; kids and adults!! Lots of positive energy and most importantly, it's a celebration of our faith!
