Ministries

Liturgy

The purpose of the Liturgy Commission is to nurture the faith of the community by providing meaningful opportunities for worshipping and praising God through liturgical and para-liturgical services. This commission also coordinates all components of the Liturgy and ensures that the reception of the sacraments is available to all on a regular basis.

Altar Servers (Adult)

Adult altar servers are men and women who assist the presider at 4:00 p.m. Saturday Vigil and 7:30 a.m. Sunday Mass and at some special services. Children, sixth grade and older, may also serve with a parent.

Altar Servers (Youth)

This group of boys and girls, sixth grade and older, assists the presider at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday Mass and at some special services.

Arimatheans

Parishioners who help prepare the church for funerals and wakes, greet families, and assist the priest at the funeral Mass.

Children's Liturgy

To help Kindergarten through 2nd grade children more fully understand and participate in Sunday worship.  The Children's Liturgy teams prepares special liturgies for children during the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

Church Decor

This group is responsible for making the church environment attractive and supportive of the Assembly's worship with plants, banners, and seasonal decor.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

These parishioners assist the presider in offering Holy Communion at Mass. See "Social Responsiblity" for opportunities for Ministers of Holy Communion to serve homebound parishioners, nursing homes, and hospitals.

Lectors

These parishioners proclaim the scriptures at weekend Masses and at various special worship services throughout the year.

Linen Care

People are needed to care for altar linens, purificators, and altar server robes.

Liturgical Dancers


Adult Liturgical Dancers

These adults, who have some experience in dance, enhance the community's worship through liturgical gesture.
Commitment: seasonal

Student Liturgical Dancers

These students must be in 9th grade or above and must have some dance experience. They contribute to the enhancement of the worship experience through liturgical gesture.

Music Ministries


Bell Choir (High School and Adult)

Play hand bells for special services and when needed to accompany other ensembles.

Cantors (High School and Adult)

Lead the assembly for weekend liturgies and special services.

Choirs (High School and Adult)

Large and small choral ensembles that sing for the weekend liturgies and special services.

Choir (Youth, 4th-8th Grades)

Sing for some weekend liturgies and some special services.

Instrumentalists (High School and Adult)

Provide accompaniment for choirs and ensembles

Commitment: One weekly practice for choirs and ensembles serving for weekend liturgies; Practices as needed for instrumentalists for special services.

Sacristans

These men and women help maintain items used for weekday and weekend liturgies and help to ensure the liturgies run smoothly.

Ushers

Ushers seat the Assembly, handle all Stewardship of Finance collections, aid the Assembly's communion procession, and generally assist in worship hospitality.
